AHISD receives $2,000 less per student than any other district in Bexar County.
Your donation funds the teachers and programs the state won't.
The Problem
Our schools face a significant challenge as the State has proven to be unreliable when it comes to funding public education. Currently, Alamo Heights ISD is allocated $2,000 less per student than the next lowest-funded district in Bexar County. Furthermore, $25 million of your local tax dollars are recaptured by the State every year, never reaching our classrooms.
The Solution
The Alamo Heights School Foundation is here to provide steady support to our schools no matter what is happening at the State level. We know your commitment to our community, our children, and our future runs deep. Whether you have a child in Alamo Heights ISD right now or not, we are all part of creating a stronger community that supports one another, and we need your help now.

Where the Money Goes
The Foundation does one thing: fund the teachers this district cannot afford without you. There are no administrative layers between your gift and the classroom. Here is how it works. Your contributions allow the district to retain local control of all monies raised. These funds directly impact:
Classroom Innovation:
Providing resources for creative and modern learning environments.
High-Quality Instruction:
Supporting our teachers and ensuring they have the tools to succeed.
Extracurricular Activities:
Enhancing the well-rounded development of every student.
Teacher Support:
Helping to recruit and retain the best educators through the Teacher Fund.
You give to the Annual Teacher Fund or the Heights First Endowment.
The Foundation delivers those dollars directly to AHISD to fund teaching positions. This year, that total was $2.5 million.

Today the Foundation operates a $3 million annual Teacher Fund and a $10 million Heights First Endowment Campaign, reaching 17,000 alumni nationwide. Under current leadership, the annual gift to AHISD has grown from $850,000 to $2.5 million.
Read Our StoryWhy Alamo Heights gives
We moved to Alamo Heights because of its reputation and tradition of high-quality public schools. The State has proven unreliable when it comes to funding our schools. Now is the time for this community we love to step up and fill in where the state falls short — to ensure all Alamo Heights children receive the very best.
It is Community Investment, not state funding, that is sustaining the exceptional education Alamo Heights is known for.
Get involved
Our mission to provide a best-in-class education depends on the collective support of our entire community — parents, alumni, and local partners. Whether you want to make a monthly commitment, celebrate your legacy, or stay connected with fellow Mules, there is a place for you here.
Your child's teacher may be funded by the Foundation right now. Join Heroes for Heights and make sure that teacher is here next year too.
Alamo Heights shaped who you are. The teacher who changed your trajectory may still be in that building. Give back to what gave you everything.
The Heights First Endowment is a $10 million campaign to permanently fund this district's future. It is the kind of philanthropic vehicle typically reserved for private universities. We are building it for a public school district. Request a private briefing.
